#ABN2020

We were honored to be present at the beautiful Windsor Station for the 5th Edition of A Brilliant Night – a fundraising gala for the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital – The Neuro. Through an educational, emotional and immersive experience, A Brilliant Night’s mission is to educate, raise awareness and much needed funds for brain cancer research at The Neuro. The Neuro’s latest highly specialized DNA testing and epigenetics have given researchers an even more comprehensive roadmap to study the driver of cancer reproduction, pushing the boundaries – and fast-tracking the pace of international cancer care research right here in Montreal. 750 guests who attend A BRILLIANT NIGHT include industry leaders, highly respected doctors, lawyers, developers, tech innovators, and leading professionals in their early 30’s to their mid 50’s from both the Anglophone and Francophone communities. Top culinary delights were provided by Montreal’s leading restaurants. The evening also featured live musical entertainment, an extravagant silent auction, exciting gift bags and more. In the first four years A Brilliant Night raised $3.5 M net, 100% of which was donated to research at The Neuro. A Brilliant Night was founded and is organized by a group of volunteers who have all been touched by brain cancer and are determined to see patients live longer and suffer less from this devastating disease. Incredible scientific breakthroughs have been made in the past 4 years through research that would not have been possible without the funds raised through the event. To accelerate cutting-edge, world-class research at The Neuro to treat malignant gliomas, which are highly aggressive, invasive and the most common and devastating primary brain cancer. Funds raised at A Brilliant Night have already led to astonishing breakthroughs about the origin of cancer heterogeneity. Combined with The Neuro’s commitment to Open Science, the course of brain cancer research has been changed globally. Why is this discovery so significant? Because it supports all types of cancer research and it is the key to developing new therapeutic targets to prevent cancer cells from duplicating and spreading. This concept, that just a short time ago seemed like an impossibility, is now reality. The Neuro’s latest highly specialized DNA testing and epigenetics have given researchers an even more comprehensive roadmap to study the driver of cancer reproduction, pushing the boundaries – and fast-tracking the pace of international cancer care research right here in Montreal. This year’s A Brilliant Night’s funds will allow the world-class Neuro to continue spearheading remarkable brain cancer discoveries, maintaining an international competitive edge as a leader in medical research. A Brilliant Night has won Gold and Silver CASE District 1 Excellence Awards for philanthropy through special events. So let’s have a look at this year’s edition of A Brilliant Night and it’s brilliantly shining patients, doctors, & guests!!!
